Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "Were people to know the blessing of pronouncing Adhan and the standing in the first row, they would even draw lots to secure these privileges. And were they to realize the reward of performing Salat early, they would race for it; and were they to know the merits of Salat after nightfall (`Isha') and the dawn (Fajr) Salat, they would come to them even if they had to crawl.''[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

We hope that you are enjoying the last few weeks of summer before classes begin!
Now that the fall semester will begin soon, we will go back to having our usual Da'wah Table, Halaqahs, Jumu'ahs, and of course MSA events!
I) Welcome to the New MSA at GSU!
It's finally here! A brand new MSA website that's fun and exciting for all to enjoy! Our new website is a one stop shop to keep the most important person, YOU, up to date on all things MSA including weekly activities and events. Take some time to explore the website on your mobile device or laptop to meet this year's board, check out the MSA Calendar, as well as register for the MSA!!

II) Prayer Room Code Change
The Prayer Room code has been changed for the upcoming fall semester so please register!
In order to receive the new code, you must register through OrgSync which can be found here:

*Prayer Room is located in the University Center, 4th floor Room 409*
III) Foundation & Theme-Based Halaqahs
Come join us to discuss religious and non-religious topics relevant to your daily lives! In addition to broadening our Islamic knowledge, this is the perfect time to meet fellow Muslims on campus!
The Foundation-Based Halaqahs will take place once a week on Tuesdays from 1-2 PM. All Foundation-Based Halaqahs will take place in the MSA Prayer Room in Room 409 in the University Center.
Theme-Based Halaqahs will be held from 1-2 PM every Thursday starting in September. Come and learn about the Deen and bring a friend along!
IV) Jumu'ah Schedule & Da'wah Table
We will be starting back up the Da'wah Table - a table set out for curious Non-Muslims and Muslims alike to learn about Islam and become a part of the MSA. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Da'wah table, email us at msaatgsu@gmail.com or sign up under the Volunteer tab on our website at msaatgsu.com. Catch us there every Wednesday from 12-1 PM and Thursday from 1-2 PM in the Library Plaza!
Also, Jumu'ah schedule is here! We will be having Jumu'ah prayer every Friday at 2:00 PM
V) Night With GSU
Mark your calendars for the first MSA event of the year! It will be a night at the park with activities, food, and most importantly, good company. :)
Come join us at Centennial Olympic Park on Thursday, September 4th from 5:00-8:30 PM.
VI) I AM AMERICA
MSA will be collaborating with other organizations like Alpha Kappa Alpha, Kappa Sigma, and Alpha Xi Delta for a 9/11 event. This is an event that is aimed to eliminate stereotypes that have been created after 9/11. Our very own Sisters’ VP, Nusaiba Mubarak, will be speaking at this event.
Please try and attend this event that will be on September 9th from 7:08-9:00 PM.

1. Masjid Beautification Day 2014
Join us for our second annual Masjid Beautification Day! We are excited to announce that in addition to Al-Farooq Masjid of Atlanta, we will be extending our project to the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam.

We need volunteers to help these masjids with a variety of tasks including planting trees and flowers, organizing the school library, painting a mural, and many more! Thanks to the overwhelming response in volunteer registration, and with support of the City of Atlanta's "Love Your Block" program, we are able to expand our beautification work to include the Masjid's surrounding Home Park neighborhood!
Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants. The first 75 individuals who register will also receive a free t-shirt.
With your help, we'll be able to develop a stronger Ummah and give back to the masjid that has provided so much to our community and to the neighborhood.
Program:
8:00am-8:30am: Breakfast/Registration at Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam
8:30am-9:00am: Keynote Speaker
9:00am-12:30pm: Service Project
12:30pm-2:00pm: Lunch at Al-Farooq Masjid
2:00pm-2:30pm: Zuhr

3. WhyIslam Dawah Booth at Gwinnett County Fair
Insha'Allah Icna Atlanta is setting up Da'wah booth at Gwinnett County Fair.
It is a great opportunity for us to share the message of Islam with thousands of fellow Americans who will attend this event.

4. Day of Dignity 2014
The Day of Dignity is an annual community service event which provides a wholesome meal, free health screenings, free haircuts, clothing, hygiene kits, and school supplies.
SHARE Atlanta and Islamic Relief partners with Local Metro Atlanta Masjids, eager volunteers, and participating organizations that come together every year to feed the homeless, underserved, poor, and needy.
